D.E.R. Community Redevelopment

The restructuring of the D.E.R Favela, located in São Bernardo do Campo - Brazil, integrates the community into the city, allowing territorial inclusion and improvement  of the quality of life.

 

To ensure this, new services and businesses would be proposed through urban planning and the creation of public facilities (basic infrastructure), always respecting the pre-existing structures and using ecological principles, integrating nature, environment, and people.

 

The aim is to achieve architectural and functional quality, economic viability, and sustainability, focusing in the creation of HOMES and not just residences.

 

A visit to the community was carried out, interviewing residents, which was a crucial factor for defining the program and starting the project design process.

This project encourages the diversity of architectural and urban planning solutions for social housing, adapting the conditions of the environment and proposing elements that enhance the urban landscape.
